The city of Weaver holds a meeting with county officials and local residents to discuss child safety at school. Weaver Mayor Wayne Willis and several other county officials held the meeting at the Weaver City Meeting Center.
With recent school shootings and local students making threats, Mayor Willis and others decided to reassure parents their children are safe. Calhoun County Schools Superintendent Joe Dyar says the children come first.
Parents, teachers and others from surrounding areas attended the meeting. Each resident was given the opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns.
