Convicted Sex Offender Heads Back to Prison
A convicted sex offender and drug offender is headed back to prison after having his probation revoked. Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver says Jonathan Tucker was convicted for failure to register as a sex offender in Cherokee County and unlawful possession of precursor chemicals in DeKalb County.
On Wednesday, the Deputy District Attorney was presented with evidence against Tucker concerning an arrest by sheriff’s office investigators on additional charges of trafficking methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, and unlawful distribution of a controlled substance in August of 2017.
After hearing the evidence the judge declared Tucker guilty of the new charges and revoked his probation and ordered him to serve the remainder of his sentences in prison.
