JSU Offers Impairment Course for Students Ahead of Spring Break

With spring break approaching, a local university shows students that some situations can be dangerous. Every year before spring break, Jacksonville State University offers its students a hands-on experience of what could happen while on spring break.

Alabama State Trooper Jimmy Harrell set up traffic cones, gave students a pair of vision-impairing goggles, and put them behind the wheel of a golf cart. Harrell says the experience is important for students. JSU’s spring break is next week and many students are planning trips to the beach and other far-off destinations.

One student, Haley Hulgan says it’s a good idea to have a plan. JSU will be offering courses throughout the week for students and on Wednesday, An Active Shooter Seminar will be presented by JSU SGA and the University Police Department. The seminar will be held on the 11th floor of the Houston Cole Library from 10am until 1pm.
