Jacksonville Mayor Shares Updated Information on Storm Damage

Jacksonville Mayor Johnny Smith passed along some updated information concerning the storm damage in his community. In a press conference earlier today, Smith said that more than four thousand men and women have volunteered to help with recovery efforts. 

 

The mayor says that new information shows that 550 structures were damaged, 37 of them were destroyed, 110 have major damage and 188 have minor damage. He also says those numbers could change as more buildings are inspected. Mayor Smith also announced that the curfew that currently in place North of Mountain St. will be in effect until Sunday, April 1st.

 

 Smith also reminds storm victims to make sure that any contractors they hire are licensed and legally able to work.
