A team made up of three groups is inspecting tree damage in Jacksonville following the March 19th tornadoes. The Urban Forest Strike Team began work in Jacksonville just a few days ago. They are evaluating publicly-owned trees, damaged by the high winds, marking them for removal, pruning or further inspection.
This team is made up of arborists from Alabama, Georgia and the Mississippi Forestry Commission along with the USDA Forest Service. Trees that are inspected will be marked with a small dot. An orange dot indicates the tree will need to be removed, while a white dot means the tree has broken limbs that need to be removed.
