Leesburg Police Officer Charged with Filing False Report

A Leesburg Police Officer is charged in connection to filing a false report. A report from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office shows Jeffery Bain is charged with filing a false report. The former police officer worked in the town of Ider in DeKalb County, then became an officer for Leesburg in August of last year. 

 

Bain was released from the Cherokee County Detention Center on a $500 bond. Leesburg Police Chief Brent Grimes says there will be no additional information released until the official investigation has been completed.
