The Alabama Association of School Boards announces its top 5 choices for superintendent of Gadsden City Board of Education. The top picks are: Dr. Garrett Brundage, who is currently the Assistant Superintendent and Chief Officer for Safe Schools and Students Affairs at Rockdale County Board of Education in Georgia.

Dr. Gary Gibson is the Special Aide to Superintendent of Schools in Talbot County Schools District. Also in Georgia. Dr. J. Bart Reeves is the Jasper City Schools high school principal. Reeves is a former Superintendent of Jackson County Schools in Alabama.

Dr. Geneva Stark is currently Jefferson County Public Schools Human Resource District Administrator in Jefferson, Kentucky. And Dr. Regina Thompson is the Executive Director at Dimensional Leadership LLC. She is the former Chief of Teaching and Learning in Richland County School for District One in Columbia, South Carolina.

The search for a new superintendent began earlier this year, when the AASB team started online surveys and community stakeholder meetings to determine what school personnel, parents, city leaders and community leaders sought in a school system leader. Board President, Deborah Howard says the board will now set at time for public interviews.
