A federal jury convicts an Etowah County man for drug trafficking. Jeffrey Beam is charged in a multi-count indictment with eight others for Conspiracy to Possess and Distribute Methamphetamine. The jury found Beam guilty for his role in the conspiracy that began in 2014 and ended in April 2016.
The evidence showed Beam and others were responsible for importing multiple kilograms of methamphetamine into the Etowah County area from California and Georgia. Beam used FedEx to receive the meth from California and used others to drive the meth from Georgia back into Alabama in their vehicles. Beam faces a life sentence for these crimes.
