Saturday, April 7, 2018

Representative Mo Brooks speaks out about refugees fleeing violence in Central America. Today, Representative Brooks gave an interview with CNN to discuss President Trump sending National Guard troops to the U.S. - Mexican border in order to dissuade a caravan of refugees from entering the U.S.

Brooks defended the president’s stance, saying that the U.S. cannot afford to become what he calls “the world’s orphanage.” The caravan of around one thousand people is making its way north through Mexico, where many of the immigrants plan to enter the U.S.

Governor Ivy released a press statement today saying she will consult the head of the Alabama National Guard to determine if any resources are available to use for Trump’s border protection effort.
