Classes Resume at JSU

Tuesday, April 10, 2018

Classes officially resume at Jacksonville State University today, three weeks after an EF-3 tornado ripped through,  impacting every building on campus. Thanks for joining us. I’m Carl Brady. To welcome the students back, President John Beelher held a press conference giving words of encouragement and hope. Beelher announced that the former Kitty Stone Elementary School will now be used for the School of Business and Industry, which was housed in Merrill Hall.

President Beelher also announced that the construction and renovations on the campus will be completed by this years fall semester. Hundreds of students returned to campus and resumed classes and many still have a decision to make. Music Education Major Bailey Burks will be finishing out the semester.

JSU students have until this Thursday to make a decision about what they want to do for the remainder of the semester. Students are encouraged to speak with their advisors before making a final decision.
