The people of Sylacauga are bringing awareness to child abuse and hoping for change. April is Child Abuse Awareness Month. Sylacauga Alliance for Family Enhancement held their annual Child Abuse Awareness Rally.
Dozens of people gathered to celebrate those who have been saved from abusive situations and to look to the future. SAFE Fatherhood Director Ollie Cates says this is something everyone can help prevent. Reports show that the majority of children being abused in the United States are being left at home alone to take care of themselves.
SAFE Executive Director Margaret Morton says it is important to get involved. If you see a child being neglected or abused, make a call, it could save their life.
