Demolition Begins on Glencoe's City Hall

Thursday, April 19, 2018

Demolition is underway on the Glencoe City Hall Building. It’s expected to take about three days to level the building. Mayor Charles Gilchrist says a new City Hall will be built in the same place once the demolition is completed. The city offices and police offices were moved to the Public Safety Building earlier this month.

Once construction on the new City Hall Building is finished the police offices will stay in the Public Safety Building and the city offices will move into the new building. Gilchrist says they simply outgrew the old City Hall. The new building will be about 6,500 square feet.
