Gadsden Etowah Habitat for Humanity Volunteer is Recognized as Volunteer of the Year

A Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity Volunteer is recognized as the 2017 Volunteer of the Year for the entire state. The Alabama Association of Habitat Affiliates recently gave the award to Traci Pondick. Pondick served on the Board of Directors of the Gadsden-Etowah Habitat for Humanity for 8 years, ending her term limit in December; however, she continues to serve as the organization’s Family Support Chairwoman.

Pondick is also in her 7th year of serving as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Habitat Dragon Boat Festival fundraiser that takes place on the Coosa River in August. Over the years, Pondick has supported Habitat through recruiting volunteers, introducing new ideas, and even tutoring homeowners and their children to help obtain their GED or enter college. Pondick is the Executive Director of Gadsden’s Retired & Senior Volunteer Program.
