A safe way to get rid of unwanted or expired prescriptions is coming up this weekend. Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention is hosting a prescription drug take-back event from 10am to 2pm this Saturday. The annual event helps people properly dispose of unwanted and potentially dangerous drugs. Last year the event collected 270 pounds of unwanted and expired prescriptions.
Prevention Specialist Britany Brown says they hope to get even more this year. Brown also says that if you can’t make it out to a location this weekend the Agency for Substance Abuse Prevention has drop off baskets at each of the police stations in Calhoun County. The event this Saturday will be at the Jacksonville and Anniston Walgreens and the Quintard Mall Food Court.
