A Jacksonville couple is arrested in connection to a December murder. Authorities say Johnny Mahan and Elsia Dyson are charged with criminally negligent homicide after Marion Brown died from head injuries. Piedmont Police Chief Freddie Norton says law enforcement found Brown bleeding and unconscious in a home in the 600 block of Draper Street in Piedmont around 2am on December 8th. Edward Johnson was charged with murder on the same day.
During a hearing an investigator said Johnson arrived at the home around midnight. After the incident Mahan, Dyson and another woman came out of their rooms and saw Brown on the floor. The investigator says Johnson told them to leave Brown where he was. The couple left the home without offering to help Brown. Dyson and Mahan were released from the Calhoun County Jail each on a $50,000 bond. Johnson remains in jail with a bond set at $150,000.
