Gadsden City Board of Education Announces Two Finalists for Superintendent

In a special meeting the Gadsden City Board of Education announces the 2 finalists for superintendent. The board names Dr. Regina Thompson and Dr. Gary Gibson. The board is now making plans to visit West Columbia South Carolina, where Thompson lives and to Columbus, Georgia, where Gibson lives. 

 

Thompson is an Alabama native and says she wants to call Gadsden home. She has experience in the Lowndes County, Homewood and Montgomery schools, as well as time as an assistant professor/coordinator of early children at Samford University. 

 

Gibson has spent most of his career working at Title one schools. He says he believes all children can learn at high levels. He says he wants to pull students and teachers up to the levels they should be performing at.
