Roy Moore Speaks Publicly for First Time Since Election
Former Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice Roy Moore files a lawsuit claiming a political conspiracy tried to derail his US Senate run. Moore held a news conference in Gadsden today to speak about the lawsuit. The suit names several women who claim Moore made unwanted sexual or romantic advances to them when they were teens and he was in his 30’s.
Moore has repeatedly denied the claims. In the suit, Moore says $40 million was spent in the final weeks of the campaign to beat him by defaming his character. Today’s press conference is Moore’s first public comment since he lost the election.
