Jacksonville Seniors Make Pledge for Successful Future

Wednesday, May 9, 2018

Jacksonville High School Seniors make a public pledge for a successful future after graduation. School administrators organized and hosted a ceremony in the school gym called "Eagles Rising."  Student names were called individually along with the name of the college of their choice or their chosen branch of military. As their names were called, each student signed a paper and joined their classmates in the bleachers. After all of the seniors were gathered, they took a group pledge for the future.

Two of the more than 100 graduates are moving forward with military commitments. We also spoke with the class valedictorian, salutatorian and class president about their plans for their future. Senior Lydia Crow says the ceremony does a lot to bring the class together as a community. The JHS graduation is set for May 24th at Golden Eagles Stadium. If it rains, the ceremony will move inside to the gym.
