Acton Bowen Indicted on Molestation Charges


A Jefferson County grand jury indicts youth evangelist Acton Bowen on charges of molesting a teenage boy. The 16 person grand jury returned a true bill finding Bowen enticed a boy between the ages of 12 and 16 to get into a vehicle for immoral purposes.

Bowen is charged with second degree Sodomy in this case, as well as a total of 4 counts of second-degree sodomy, 2 counts of enticing a child, and 3 counts of second degree sexual abuse in Etowah County. He is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing there on May 15th. Bowen remains in the Etowah County Detention Center on an $855,000 bond.
