Two women are accused of taking thousands of dollars’ worth of Ag-Pro equipment. During an early morning patrol, a Piedmont Officer noticed an SUV and trailer sitting in a parking lot of an empty business on Highway 278. Inside the vehicle the officer found Elizabeth West and Barbara Chastain and in the trailer were two John Deere Lawn Mowers.
Piedmont Officers and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Deputies went to Ag-Pro and found the fence had been cut. Ag-Pro management confirmed the equipment was theirs. Chastain and West are charged with receiving stolen property. The two women are being held on a $15,000 bond.
They are scheduled for a Preliminary Court Hearing on June 28th. Law enforcement says the investigation is still ongoing and more arrests are expected.
