Rainbow City Police Chief Wins Over Etowah County Sheriff in Primary Election

Thursday, June 7, 2018

It is the day after for the primary elections in Alabama. You can see many of the results on our website, but here are some results in a couple of key races. One of the most talked about races-the Etowah County Sheriff’s race where current Sheriff Todd Entrekin lost to his Republican challenger Jonathon Horton.

The unofficial returns show that Horton got about 64% of the votes compared to Entrekin’s 36%. Entrekin has served as the Etowah County Sheriff since 2007. Horton is the current Rainbow City Police Chief, but also once worked for the sheriff’s office. You can expect to hear more from the Sheriff-elect coming up later this week on TV24.
