Jacksonville City Updating Sewer Line

Jacksonville city leaders have approved a contract to replace a sewer line that serves about half of the city. The project will cost the city about $250,000. According to the city, the aging sewer line, which runs behind Johnson’s Giant Food, carries sewage from the south side to Jacksonville’s wastewater treatment plant.

A Tuscaloosa-based company will complete the work. It should start in a couple of weeks and it would take up to 90 days to complete.
