Dust Storm Causes Power Disruption for Mars Rover

A massive dust storm is causing disruptions for NASA’s Opportunity Mission on Mars. The 15-year old rover last sent a transmission Sunday. It is powered by sunlight and the dust storm is apparently blocking the rays, which sent the rover into sleep mode.

NASA scientists say once the storm clears, they expect to begin receiving communication from the rover. The scope of this storm covers almost a quarter of the red planet and has steadily worsened since the end of May.
