A leading manufacturer is creating 150 new jobs in Oxford. The Calhoun County Economic Development Council has announced the approval of Kronospan’s request to amend a tax abatement that the city originally granted in 2016. The request comes after an additional $101 million investment. That brings the total investment of the company’s Grow Bama Project to $463 million with a total of 310 jobs created.
In 2008, Kronospan began operating its Oxford plant where it now makes laminate flooring and other products. Once the expansion is completed, Kronospan’s site will represent the largest private capital investment in the city of Oxford as well as Calhoun County.
