New Tourist Signs Point Visitors to Pinhoti Trail

A popular hiking path now has signs displayed for tourist and motorist traveling through Heflin. The Alabama Department of Transportation has installed signs marking the pinhoti Trail along Highway 78 and Interstate 20, at the point where the state’s longest footpath crosses automotive arteries.

The Pinhoti Trail stretches 335 miles between Alabama and Georgia. Trail proponent Adam Dasinger says the signs will be good for tourism to show people where the trail is crossing and to bring more visitors into Heflin.
