Wellington Brothers Arrested for Murder of Jacksonville Woman

After weeks of intense investigation, two Wellington brothers are in custody for the murder of a Jacksonville woman. 33-year-old Timothy Mark Putman and 39-year-old Tony Lee Putman were each arrested on a murder warrant. According to Calhoun County Sheriff Matthew Wade, the arrests were in connection with the death, dismemberment, and burning of 26-year-old Kelsey Williams.

Glencoe police and firefighters found parts of Williams’ badly burned body early on the morning of June 2nd. They were responding to reports of a fire behind the former RJ’s gas station on Highway 431. Authorities said they used dental records to identify Williams as the victim.

About a week later, a Wellington man called to report finding a burned out van on the edge of his property in the 1400 block of Pine Ridge Road. Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown confirmed that more human remains, believed to belong to Williams, were found inside the van.

The van also matched the description of the one investigators said Williams drove. Right now, both suspects are being held in the Calhoun County Jail and each has bond set at a half million dollars.
