The Cedar Bluff Utilities Board unanimously approved an increase in water rates to just under $7 per 1,000 gallons over 2,000. The minimum for the first 2,000 gallons will remain the same. The additional $2 sewage rate was also added by the utility board in order to cover the cost of operations.
Deposits for new customers will also see an increase from $150 to $400 due to a large number of customers leaving the utility board with unpaid bills. The new rates will take effect on September 1st.
