Oxford's McCallum & Etowah's Harris Commit To SEC Schools

A pair of big time local recruits made their college decisions on Monday. 


Oxford linebacker Kendall McCallum officially committed to LSU.  McCallum came on strong in the last 18 months and popped up as a power five recruit. He’s a hard hitting linebacker and a great force inside. McCallum picked LSU over offers from Louisville, Ole Miss, Memphis Troy among others. Etowah High School defensive back Justin Harris is also SEC-bound. Harris committed to Vanderbilt Sunday afternoon after an official visit. Harris (6'2", 175 pounds). Harris was a member of the 2017 Pigskin Roundup All-Star team. His other offers included Virginia, Northwestern, Pitt, Purdue, Wake Forest, Troy, UAB and South Alabama. Harris recorded 24 tackles, three interceptions and 14 pass breakups last season during Blue Devils run an 11-2 record and the Class 5A quarterfinals.
