E.Coli Levels Could be Affected by Storms

Saturday, June 30, 2018

Before you finalize your plans for this weekend, the Coosa River Keeper wants to warn you about E.coli in some local creeks. High levels of E.coli have been found in Big Wells Creek and Attalla City Park. Moderately high levels of E.coli have been discovered at Coldwater Creek Memorial Park and in Big Canoe Creek at the highway 231 bridge in Ashville.

Additional rain over the weekend will worsen the water quality so everyone is encouraged by the Coosa River Keeper to use extreme caution swimming in these areas. To receive water quality alerts by phone, text SWIMGUIDE to 844-83.
