Life-Meter Thermometers Being Used to Raise Awareness of Heat Dangers in Vehicles

Wednesday, July 4, 2018

With the summer heat kicking in, it is important to understand the dangers of leaving children unattended inside vehicles. The Rainbow City Fire Department wants everyone in the community to be cautious of how hot the inside of your car can get within minutes.

The Life-Meter is a medical-grade thermometer that shows how fast the temperature inside a vehicle changes. Many cars today only show the outside temperature and not the inside. Rainbow City Fire Captain Larry Murray explains why it is never okay to leave children or the elderly inside of a vehicle.

The Life-Meter is free for all Rainbow City residents and they may be picked up at the Rainbow City Fire department.
