Several US Missions Groups Stranded in Haiti Amongst Riots

Tuesday, July 10, 2018

Two mission groups from Alabama are among several that are stranded in Haiti. Protests over an increase in fuel prices turned violent and filled up streets in Haiti, forcing airlines to cancel flights and businesses to shut down.

First Baptist Church Russellville and Faith Community Church in Trussville traveled to the island to work with children ministries and host vacation bible schools. Both groups are safe and have found shelter.

It has been reported that volunteer and ministry groups from Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina are also stranded. There is no official word on when it will be safe for the groups to return home.
