Two Etowah County Women Facing Chemical Endangerment Charges

Two women from Etowah County are facing charges for Chemical Endangerment of a child in separate cases. Sara Chittam tested positive for opiates, marijuana and fentanyl while pregnant. Jessica Abner tested positive for cocaine while pregnant. 

 

Chittam and Abner are each charged with one felony count of Chemical Endangerment. Both women are being held in the Etowah County Detention each on a $10,000 bonds. 

 

As a condition of bond, Chittam and Abner must successfully complete a drug treatment program and will be supervised by the Etowah Court Referral Office upon release.
