Jacksonville City Council Submits Request for Reimbursement to FEMA

Wednesday, July 11, 2018

The city of Jacksonville is working its way back to normal despite the tornadoes that ripped through almost four months ago. Jacksonville City Council recently submitted a reimbursement request of $1.2 million to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The request comes at the cost of what the city had to pay so far for debris removal. If approved, FEMA says they will reimburse up to 75% of recovery cost. Jacksonville Mayor Johnny Smith says the city hasn’t heard anything back from FEMA but they are hopeful for a quick response.
