City of Jacksonville Running Tests on New Crosswalk to Help Motorists Be Mindful of Pedestrians

The city of Jacksonville is hoping to catch motorist attention while showing a little school spirit. The crosswalk on James Hopkins, across from Kitty Stone Elementary School has been painted blue, gold, and white.

The colorful crosswalk is being used as a trial crosswalk to get feedback from the community and promote pedestrian safety. Jacksonville City Council member Jimmy Harrell says he hopes this will cause drivers to pay more attention to pedestrians crossing the busy street.
