Students with World Changers Volunteering in Calhoun County
Nearly 200 teens and young adults volunteering with a group called World Changers are in Calhoun County this week. They’re working to serve the community while spreading the love of Christ.
Nichelle Stamps and her husband moved into his grandmother’s 87-year-old home in Anniston last February. Since then, they’ve worked to renovate and repair the aging structure but doing all the work themselves has been difficult.
Stamps recently got an unexpected call from World Changers offering to paint the outside of the home, replace a door and some wood framing on the porch. She tells us that it has been a joy to spend time with this group of young people.
World Changers Director Madison Cleveland says what makes this group so unique is that those involved actually voluntarily spend their summer break serving others through this physical labor. Volunteers from six churches across the southeast will be working in the Anniston and Oxford area through Friday.
