Research Shows Decline in Cable and Satellite TV Subscriptions in Favor of Internet TV
Recent Research is showing that by the end of this year, millions will say goodbye to cable and satellite TV. While the numbers of subscribers are constantly growing for internet based television services like Hulu and Netflix, cable providers like Direct TV and Comcast are projected to lose millions of subscribers.
According to the research firm eMarketer, satellite and cable providers will lose almost 33 million consumers by the end of 2018. Although many customers may use both satellite and internet based services, more people are looking to exclusively stream their shows and movies. This cord cutting trend stems from the constant rising prices of cable and satellite opposed to the lower cost internet based TV.
