Flash Flood Watch Cherokee and Etowah County

Flash Flood Watch will remain in effect until Thursday evening. These are photos taken earlier today from Cherokee County, which received more than six inches of rainfall causing flooding in many areas.

With more rain expected to fall over the next couple of days, those who live in low lying areas should pay close attention to the weather.

Here is footage of flooding throughout Etowah County. According to Gadsden-Etowah Emergency Management Agency, Rainbow City received the most rainfall of more than seven inches. EMA Public Information Officer Breonna Cole reminds everyone to be alert during the Flash Flood Watch.

Several trees blocking roads are still reported to be down in the Rainbow City area.
