Weaver Man Dies in Single-Vehicle Crash

Friday, August 3, 2018

A single vehicle accident Wednesday afternoon claims the life of a Weaver man. 21-year-old Thomas Jordan III was traveling east on Interstate 20 around 3:15pm, less than two miles west of Oxford, when his 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier left the roadway and hit a guardrail. The vehicle flipped over, and troopers say Jordan was not wearing his seat belt.

He was rushed to RMC to be stabilized and then transferred to UAB hospital where he died from internal bleeding. The 21-year-old was on his way home from work when the accident occurred.

Jordan leaves behind a 2-week-old baby girl. TV24 briefly spoke with Jordan’s mother who described him as funny, loving, and compassionate. A GoFundMe account has been set up for his infant daughter. The cause of this accident is still being investigated by State Troopers.
