The Coosa Riverkeeper reported nine areas that have poor water quality conditions this week. The reason being is this week has had some of the heavier sustained rains of the season.
High alerts of E-coli have been discovered at Choccolocco Creek at Priebes Mill, Coldwater, Big Wills and Hatchet Creeks, Attalla City Park, and Big Canoe Creek at the highway 21 bridge.
Moderately high alerts of E-coli have been found in Wetumpka, Coves Creek at Hokes Bluff, and Rainbow Landing. The Riverkeeper wants to remind people that more rain expected this weekend could alter these results. Swimmers should be cautious and alert when swimming in these areas.
