String of Armed Robberies Runs Through Gadsden

The Gadsden Police Department is asking for the public’s help in solving a string of armed robberies. According to Sergeant John Hallman, two males entered Dollar General off South 11th Street wearing hoodies and armed with handguns. The two held a store employee at gunpoint and demanded money from the register. The cash drawer would not open and the two men took off without taking anything. The employee was not injured.

In a separate case, a man walked into Dollar General on JR Country Highway wearing a hooded sweatshirt. The man pointed a gun at an employee demanding money. The employee cooperated and gave the man an undisclosed amount of money. He took off in a light colored Nissan Maxima or Altima with black wheels. Investigators also want to identify the person wearing a blue or purple hat and shirt. The shirt has the number 23 on it. This man is considered to be a person of interest as well.

In a third case, a male entered a convenience store in the 500 block of George Wallace Drive. The man, dressed in dark clothes with his face covered, was armed with a handgun. The man pointed the gun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk complied giving the man an undisclosed amount of cash. The male left the scene in a light colored Nissan Maxima or Altima.
