Kiwanis Club of Gadsden Hosting Convention to Celebrate 100th Year

The Kiwanis Club of Gadsden will be hosting a three-day Alabama State District Convention this year to celebrate their 100th year anniversary. Since 1919, the Kiwanis Club has raised $2 million for local community groups and charities. The club is best known for its annual Kiwanis Pancake Day, which is where most of their funding comes from with about $50,000 raised each year.

The convention this weekend is expected to bring more than 150 Kiwanians from all over the state to participate in workshops and meetings. Gadsden Kiwanis President Glen Williams is excited for other members to get a taste of what all Gadsden has to offer.

The three-day convention will begin at noon on Friday and run through Sunday until 1pm. Events will be held at the Downtown Civic Center and the Pitman Theatre with a breakfast held Sunday morning at the Gadsden Museum of Art to recognize and honor late Kiwanis members.
