MDA Accepts Resignation of Executive Director

Earlier this morning the McClellan Development Authority held a meeting and work session to discuss several topics. During the meeting, board members accepted Robin’s Scott resignation letter that he submitted last month.

Scott has been on the board for 10 years and currently holds the Executive Director position. Scott is also retired from the Air Force where he served for more than 33 years. The resignation comes from Scott saying he believes it’s time for something new as he reflects on his accomplishments with the MDA. Scott’s final day as Executive Director will be September 28th.

The MDA board also held a work session immediately after with Back Country Horsemen of Alabama. The work session is in regards to the horse riding trails that will be built on the McClellan property along with a bike trail.

In conclusion, they agreed to a committee from the MDA Board to meet with a committee from Back Country Horsemen to negotiate a lease agreement for the horse trails. Board Chairman Phil Webb says they are excited to move forward with establishing the trails at McClellan. The next MDA meeting will be scheduled in September.
