Anniston Man in Murder Case Receives Bond


An Anniston man accused of murder now has a cash bond set at $500,000. 23-year-old Khalil Smith is charged with one count of Murder, one count of Attempt to Commit Murder, and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle.

On August 8th around midnight, someone who lives on Clanton Street in Attalla called 911 stating there was an altercation between two men and shots were fired. According to Sheriff Todd Entrekin, investigators believe that Smith shot and killed 22-year-old Cheyenne Humphries of Attalla and wounded Brandon Gipson of Anniston.

Smith is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center
