A Cedar Bluff man has turned himself in on an Attempted Murder warrant. According to Cherokee County investigators, law enforcement received a call that there was an active shooting taking place a Trammell Welding on Highway 9. When officers arrived, a white Ford F-150 was spotted leaving the scene at a high rate of speed in the direction of the Georgia-Alabama state line. Floyd County, Georgia officials were then notified and began searching for the truck.
It was later determined that the truck had been stolen and the suspect was identified as Billy Trammell. Cherokee County investigators found the truck on County Road 773 but Trammell was not inside. After several hours of searching for Trammell, authorities called off the search. A warrant of First-degree Theft of property and Attempted Murder was issued. Trammell later arrived to the Cherokee County’s Sheriff Office to turn himself in where he remains without bond.
