The Northeast Alabama Bicycle Association and Runners Club is almost complete with their new welcome center and headquarters. A 6,700 square foot building on West 10th Street is where the newly renovated welcome center stands. Members of the association raised money for more than a year and spent countless of hour volunteering to renovate the building.
The building is only a ten minute bike ride from the Coldwater Mountain biking trails and is positioned only a few block away from where the extended Chief Ladiga Trail will begin. Once the renovations are complete, there will be a conference room, office spaces, and showers for the bikers and runners. Project Coordinator Brooke Nelson says it took the association almost six years to find the perfect building.
Nelson also says the renovation is 85% complete and they hope to have an official ribbon cutting ceremony in the fall.
