United Way Day of Action

United Way of East Central Alabama held their annual Day of Action event that has made a big impact in the community. More than 250 volunteers gathered at the Oxford Civic Center to help fight hunger as they packaged 50,000 meals in approximately four hours. The meals will be supplied to local food banks and shelters throughout Calhoun County.

Volunteers were greeted with a free t-shirt and a complimentary breakfast buffet to begin their day. The campaign chairman describes what this event means to him. Mosley adds that the pre-packaged meals will feed the homeless and food dependent people for the next eight to nine months.
