The White House recently held a panel discussion and Alabama’s Attorney General was one of several officials who participated. The panel discussion focused on protecting America’s borders from issues such as drug trafficking, and illegal immigration. Attorney General Steve Marshall accepted the panel invitation because he believes border security is a concern for all states in association to those crimes.
The discussion also touched base on the impact Immigration and Customs Enforcement has on protecting national borders while cooperating alongside of federal, state and local government. Marshall shared with the panel why he believes ICE’s contributions are important.
After the panel discussion, Marshall was also a guest at a Presidential ceremony honoring the men and women of Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Customs and Border Protection. The work of ICE and CBP has a direct connection to the safety of the citizenry that extends beyond states that are on the border. President Trump ended the ceremony by expressing his gratitude towards agents who have been caught in the crosshairs of the immigration policy debate as they uphold their sworn duty to enforce the law.
Attorney General Marshall also believes that the men and women of ICE and CBP are a must play a major role in restoring the respect for the rule of law throughout the country.
