Centre Woman Charged With Financial Exploitation and Forgery

A Centre woman who was arrested earlier this month and charged with Financial Exploitation of the Elderly now faces additional charges. Sherri Dupree was first arrested and charged with 1st degree Theft by Deception, Financial Exploitation, and Negotiating Worthless Negotiable Instruments.

These charges stem from accusations that Dupree had been taking money from an elderly person by forging checks. According to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Dupree was employed to care for the elderly person. Dupree has been additionally charged with third-degree Forgery. Dupree was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center and later released on $150,000 bond.
