Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department Receives Grant

The US Department of Homeland Security recently awarded the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department with a grant totaling $41,000. The grant will help the department, located in Talladega County, purchase new safety equipment and operations.

The grant is awarded under the 2017 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program that supports first responders across the state. This award aims to enhance first responders’ ability to protect the health and safety of the public, as well as that of first responder personnel, with respect to fire-related hazards.
