High School Football Awards Week 0

The dust has settled from week 0 of the high school football season and after a action-packed pair of days of football, the awards are in:

KFC-Pigskin Roundup Team of the Week: Etowah High School The Blue Devils won a thrilling game against their county rivals from Gadsden City 32-23. Etowah fell behind then regained the two different times against the Titans but came away with the victory to start the season 1-0. For their big win the entire team and coaching staff will get the famous KFC Team of the Week meal and ToW t-shirts on Thursday.

Wiseguys Pizza Player of the Week: Jamin Graham - Etowah The Wiseguys Pizza Player of the Week is Etowah defensive end Jamin Graham. The senior was sensational scoring two defensive touchdowns in the last1:15 seconds to secure the victory. Graham recorded two fumble recoveries for touchdowns (one in the endzone and one on a 75 yard return as time expired) in Etowah’s first ever win over Gadsden City. Graham was also playing with a heavy heart after his grandfather and Etowah teacher James Graham passed away earlier in the week. As the Player of the Week - Graham will receive a free large pizza from Wiseguys Pizza.
